If you've never hired a personal chef for a private event such as a dinner party, you may have some questions about the process, please read the FAQS below.
A - A range of people enjoy my private chef services, including busy professional couples, time-poor families who wish to treat themselves, people who wish to host a special occasion, shoot parties, hen and stag parties, people who are hiring a self-catering cottage, business people who wish to wine and dine an important client in the confidential surrounding of their own venue.
A - Each event and menu are tailored to each individuals requirements therefore detailed quotations are provide on receipt of the client brief. The simple menus start at £45pp, there is a minimum spend of £400 per dinner party, this is higher at weekends and holidays, this is inclusive of all ingredients and my time in your kitchen. A non refundable deposit of £100 will be taken to secure the booking. The full amount must be paid one week before the date of the event. Any late bookings which are made within 7 days of the events date must pay the full amount upfront upon booking the event.
A - No date is secured until the £100 deposit has been paid, however I do hold dates for 14 days from the day of initial enquiry, should you not get to the stage of paying a deposit within 14 days, then date will be released for others to book.
A - Most clients do prefer to use their own, however I can provide the above for small dinner parties there will be an extra charge for this service.
A - For each menu I will be creating dishes from scratch, this will take several hours in most cases, which is why I prepare around 80% of the menu in my prep kitchen, that means I only need around 2 hours before dinner in yours.
A - Please have a clean kitchen, an empty sink and dishwasher if you have one, room in your fridge and freezer, and space for me to work on. Also make sure all your equipment is in working order, ovens, grills etc. I will leave the kitchen the way I find it.
A - I'm happy to cater for any number, however it is very dependent on your venue, the kitchen, the equipment and also menu choice. With regards to the tasting menu I normally cap the numbers at 12. It's possible to do more but we would need to discuss the options for this.
A - Not at all, the menus and dishes on the website are simply just there for you to get ideas or inspiration, each menu is completely bespoke to the individual client.
A - If the cancellation is made before the final payment date then you will only loose your deposit, if cancellation is made after final payment, then you will loose the full amount. At the Dinner Party always recommends you have event insurance to cover these unfortunate circumstances.
